They're Just Having a BAD Day!

I'm sure this has happened to you before... Just sheer rudeness by someone without any tinge of provocation. What do you do? Retaliate? Let it pass?

I always pay rudeness with rudeness. After all, who do the person he/she is showing me such disrespect?! Today, it happened again.

Our delivery guy was supposed to send something to my 'princessy' client at the comfort of her condominium at some posh district.

He called me with such attitude telling me off for giving him an incomplete address to deliver to. Oh oh... don't you push it, I am not exactly known for my graciousness nor tolerance. I retaliated back with the same attitude and rudeness. Tit for a tat. I then checked with my client who confirmed with me, that is the full address (is the posher your district, the simpler and shorter your mailing address?). Uh-uh! I called back the bugger and told him off smugly now that I'm dead sure he was in the wrong. Grudgingly, he said fine and that he will look for it.

I later found out later from my colleague that his brother, who was in his 30s, had passed away recently. I felt awful. Had I known that, I would have let him vent out all his anger on me and just let his rudeness pass... Why was I so quick to retaliate? Why couldn't I think maybe he's just having a bad day? Why couldn't I tell myself he acted that way for a reason?

Next time if someone lashed out at you or seemed rude to you for no apparent reason, give his seemingly character the benefit of doubt. Maybe he's really having a bad day...

YOU Drive ME NUTS!

What human characteristics drive you nuts???? I have a couple but I guess top of my list is lack of opinions, beliefs, self confidence and laziness. THAT i really can't tolerate.

1) Lacking of opinions/thoughts/self identity
If someone is in her early teens, this would have been forgiveable. However I truly can't endure grown adults who don't even have opinions of their own and naively thought people are dumb to realise whatever comes from their mouths are borrowed opinions/information from others! Is there such a thing as verbal plagarism?!
Ok geez, I don't mean to be mean. I know I can be such a bitch sometimes but I truly value individuality. I believe every human no matter now geeky or how stunning you are, are made differently. I mean c'mon, we are all not manufactured in some human factory are we?! We are all lovingly made by God. Each and everyone of us.. I honestly do not know how much time he spent. To be growing up and not being true to yourself is really shortchanging God and yourself.

The crazy thing is I'm kinda a psycho magnet as a friend once put it. I have my fair share of female psychos who tried to imitate me or be my shadow. Imitation is the greatest form of flattery one may say. I'll say, get lost. I don't need no flattery, seriously just go away. This irks me to no end! Pardon my random ramblings and rants, I guess I've been keeping it inside me for too long, I mean what can you do, go to the person and say,"STOP COPYING ME YOU FOOL AND GO GET YOUR OWN FREAKING IDENTITY!" Sure I would love to do that. But do I have the guts to tear a person out like that? Nope. The fact that I'm ranting in this blog says it all.

I hate it when someone sees a great need to do whatever I do. Let's say I do activity A. Next thing I know, let's say X, has all intentions to do activity A. I proceeded to do activity B. Next thing I know, X expressed great interest in activity B without actually knowing much about it! That aside, sometimes the verbally plagarized opinions is enough for smoke to ooze out of my ears. Do you actually think you could borrow my last week's opinion and pass them off as your own a week later? I mean, are you ditzy? They are MY opinions, of cos no matter what I'll remember them for as long as I live. However, if you have been lifting too many opinions off others, you may accidentally repeat one in the face of its original owner and WHAM! You'll look like a dumbass. Only sad thing is, I simply do not know how to react to such blatant theft and even felt too embarrassed for the person to even want to say anything about it.

Try this. You use a new vocab or even a new lingo or a nicely put string of words. A day after, she'll use the exact same vocab/lingo/nicely put string of words. It is worse when the person tries to act like you, speak like you, even got into a bitchy argument with a sales person or cab driver like you. Or air kiss the bouncer like you. URGHGHGHGHHhhhhh!

What I'm trying to say is... BE YOURSELF. It is really exasperating to have to deal with people like this. It is hard to respect an individual like this cos you don't even know who he or she really is! You shouldn't be a chameleon, blending in with the different people you hang with. Being the person you thought they are. That's just insecure and lame. With person A, you claim you don't fancy this and that just cos A is like that. With person B, you contradicted yourself and be seen in places you claimed you hate just cos B has different likings from A and thus you are suddenly moulded in B now.

You are not doing justice to yourself and the person that you are. You could possibly have a great potential to be such a brilliant individual but you ain't have time to even know yourself cos you are just too busy being others. That is the sad part. You will lose credibility as an individual. You are not justifying yourself as a God's creation. You are just playing a shadow in that one precious life you have. Worse of all, you do not know just how special you are cos that side of you has been buried deeper and deeper each day with every facade you put on. I wish you the best of luck.

I'll continue with laziness another day, I have to rush off some work before I hit the sack! Nite you guys!

My Coming Istanbul Journey

Tick tock tick tock tick tock... 18 more days before I set off to Istanbul, Turkey. Excited? Yea. Scared... hell yea. While it's great friends are darn excited about my new move/journey/adventure and already making plans to visit the beautiful country, they sometimes forget that I'm not exactly there for a holiday.

It's a whole new thing for me. Me. 27. Never really travelled. Never experienced snow. Never been away from home for so long. Never been away from family. Never lived on my own. Heading there, without a job secured nor substantial savings is indeed a huge leap for me. Regardless, it never fails to make my heart beat loads and make a little skip and dance. *smile* I needed that. I need that in my life. That thing about life that makes me smile again...

I guess sometimes, I've forgotten to live. I like to set high goals for myself and can be such a bitch to my ownself. I like to do my work well, I must do it well and I must outstand. I never like to be in the background when it comes to excelling. I'm neither superbly talented nor gifted academically. Thus what I do is to focus on my strengths which is my drive and capabilities.

My maturity far exceeds my age. That is the result of hardships when I was young. Nonetheless, I'm proud. I'm proud to be me. I will never claim to be smart nor beautiful nor successful. I will claim to be a woman of strong character, with lotsa opinions and is firm with what she believes in and what she does not condone. And I will claim to be capable.

Time is always ticking, every second. That's how much of our lives we have to value. Thus, ask yourself if you are living the life you've always wanted. I gave up an attractive salary offer and groomed future in Singapore to take this path. This direction. A risky decision... yet deep in my heart I knew I have made the right one. Cos I know I am someone who will always TRY. Someone who will always lead instead of follow. I am never a blind follower of opinions or decision. My journey is coming. And I will share it with you soon...

THE PROPOSAL

No no no no... no one proposed to me, I didn't propose to anyone, I'm not getting married, no one's getting married....

THE PROPOSAL - the new movie is out now as you guys would already have known and what can I say? 5 out of 5 popcorns!!!! hoorayyyy

This movie is AWESOME andI love it to bits. Ok, like most chicks, I've always been a romantic-comedy kinda person but I reckon I'm a rather hard to please viewer. What do you expect?? I'm a Gemini, I smile and am all charming and turn hysterical and grouchy the next second! Little things could affect my mood. Ok, going on the basis of judging a romantic comedy... if the actress is too pretty and yada yada yada, I'll think this is darn unrealistic... (yea ok so I know it is a MOVIE).. A romantic comedy has to be just right you see... the right humour... the right casts, the right environment... whether it makes sense or simply a desperate attempt of the producers'... it must be something I can associate it with... me - the freaking viewer.

First off, major brownie point - SANDRA BULLOCK. Now this cute as a button actress will always remain as one of my major top actress for a romantic comedy film. It has got to be Sandra Bullock. She's adorable, pretty, unintimating. She's really someone most chicks can relate too, well unless you look like Princess Fiona.

In this movie, Sandra came equipped with her more evident wrinkles but guess what? She hasn't lost her charm. She's hilarious, super cute and darn likeable even as a hard ass boss. Ryan Reynolds, this likeable yet hot dude is another bonus. His expressions are priceless. These two are the bomb and they are so freaking hilarious. The story plot is excellent, everything falls into place. What can I say, I love it! It's been ages since a movie made me laugh SO HARD! Perhaps the fact that I have 4 days left of work has alot to do with it as well! ;p
Not gonna be such a spoiler, go watch it. Hope you'll love it as much as I do!

It's FOOD time baby!

Just the other day, me and my gf went to BULGGOGI Korean restaurant in the Changi Airport Terminal 2.

Don't you just love hanging out at the airport? I love that since I was a kid, I studied there for my exams and watched in awe at the lovely stewardesses and charming pilots dashing past. I love the mad frenzy the place turned into at times. I love watching people hugging in joy as they greeted their loved ones at the arrival hall... I witnessed some of the most moving scenes - little tears streaming down as a young lady waved goodbye not knowing when she'll see her loved one again.. a mother, putting on a strong front and literally biting her lips to fight back her tears as she bidded goodbye to her son who'll probably be away for years, studying abroad... I see sadness, I see joy, I see calmness, I see a rush. Most importantly... I see how HUGE the world is and how much I want to explore and visit every corners of this world and meet the craziest culture, the most beautiful architectural, the most amazing beaches and not to forget, the widest range of human species. I want to hear every single accent, befriend every single race, know every single religion and touch the hearts of every single one. The airport... that's where my dreams begin.

And that's where my dinner starts. It was my second time at BULGGOGI Korean Restaurant. It adopts a barbeque/steamboat concept and the place is quite nice. We had lots of lovely seafood the first time we went there. We decided to be wild carnivorous and opt for all the meat we could find!!

First of all, I have to apologise. This is indeed my first blog so I don't really have a habit to take pictures everywhere I go. Heck, I don't even own a camera! I know I should probably take some pictures BEFORE I start attacking the food *blush*blush*... but hey this is still better than a shot of my leftovers! haha...

What do you get when you leave two clueless chicks to cook? Seriously, this is the closest I get to real cooking!!

Wow I'm hungry just looking back at all these pictures...

And THAT is my signature ring! I've worn that ring for ages now.. I reckon close to 6 years! In fact, a funny thing just happened earlier. I went to the clinic again after breaking out in rashes this morning -the very same clinic I went to two days ago cos I was down with what I know now as VIRAL INFECTION. Cos of the fact I have had flu, I had to wear a mask today as per two days ago. Nurses in the clinic all wore masks thus all we could see were each others' eyes.
I had to have my blood pressure and temperature checked. The nurse asked me,"Your fever has not subside?" Wow. She remembered me? She remembered my eyes?? Or was I wearing the same clothes as I was 2 days ago? Looking at my quizzical expression, she explained, "Oh I recognised you from your ring." How amazing! It's like my freaking DNA!

Anyways my beloved ring is of a peacock with lovely intricate design and yes... if I were to be a bird, I'll be a peacock, walking around with pride and being a a little snooty hehe well I think women should be made that way. Women SHOULD play hard to get and women who worships/loves and talk about men all the time are a.. what's that word again .. TURN OFF?!!!! *roll eyes in exasperation*

I even told myself IF I were to get married, I would want an exact replica of that ring! Covered with diamonds of course. Never fails to stump any men. Oh look the way I disgustingly and shamelessly zoomed in my ring! hahahaha.... Reminds you of those celebrity magazine isn't it when stars are spotted with rings and the magazine never fails to zoom in on those blings! hahahaha... Aah well, move aside Paris, I think mine rocks more! Bleah!

Oh yea have to tell you guys about my fave drink at BULGGOGI!!! Check this out:

This drink is oooh so cool and refreshing and leave such nice sweet after taste in your mouth!!!

I know you guys must be wondering what the hell is that thing???! Is it a freaking FOETUS?!

No my child, that is GINSENG! (Ginseng is each of eleven species of slow-growing perennial plants with fleshy roots, in the Panax genus, in the family Araliaceae) This exotic drink is called THE WOLFBERRY GINSENG. I love the fusion of sweetness and weird bitterness of this drink, it simply made it FASCINATING. A must try even for none sweet lover like me (yes I don't even take sugar with my tea, I like it raw mannnn)! Alritey I'm off to do some reading now, have great night!
